**Addiction Specialist**

**Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service**

**Your new team**
- Orygen Specialist Programs (OSP) provides specialist mental health services, focusing on early intervention, for young people aged 15 to 25 with severe and complex mental illness.
- The Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS) team provides specialist youth mental health care in custodial settings including the Parkville and Malmsbury sites.

**Your new role**:

- You will be joining the team in a newly created role as the Addictions Specialist to help develop and support an enhanced model of care across Orygen Custodial FYMHS. In this role, you will:

- Lead the development and expansion of custodial mental health services within youth justice settings across Parkville and Malmsbury.
- Assist and support young people in custody to address harmful behaviours resulting from problematic alcohol and the drug use.
- Provide leadership in the implementation of substance use evidence-based practice identification, assessment and interventions for client in youth justice custody.
- This is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists (Clinical, Forensic & Neuropsychology endorsed)._

**About You**:

- Relevant registration and qualifications (see attached position description)
- Previous experience in the AOD sector and the ability to provide leadership and expertise regarding youth addiction and dual diagnosis.
- Knowledge of the youth justice and/or criminal justice system and other relevant sectors
