**Position Overview**
The Accounts Officer is responsible for undertaking various day-to-day and month-end financial accounting activities for the Courts. These include processing of transactions to the Court’s financial management system, providing support to the payroll processing team, responding to internal and external enquiries in a timely manner and other ad-hoc and administrative tasks as directed. This position reports to the Financial Accountant (Administered).
**Key Duties**
The occupant of this position is responsible for a range of day-to-day financial accounting activities including:
- Processing of accounting transactions within the Court’s financial management system as directed.
- Payroll team support and backup.
- Loading of payroll cash files into Court’s FMIS.
- Responsibility for reconciliation of the Court’s bank accounts including import of bank statements, fee information, bank fees and the investigation of unknown receipts.
- Action all bank transfers between Courts’ accounts.
- Banking and/or receipting as required.
- Validation and processing of refunds for all Courts.
- Receipting and reconciliation of paid parental leave.
- Investigate, resolve and respond to internal and external client queries.
- Provide finance help-desk support for other staff, on related matters;
- Create and/or maintain vendor and client accounts within TechnologyOne.
- Backup for other team member roles.
- Other financial, administrative and location based duties as required.
**Selection Criteria**
- Strong numeracy skills and a background in accounts processing, reconciliations and payroll processing would be highly regarded.
- Strong organisational skills including the flexibility to manage workload and prioritise tasks when required.
- Attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and productive working relationships within a small, geographically dispersed team.
