Foster House supports individuals experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. We are looking for caring, empathic and compassionate individuals to support our team to create a a great experience for our residents and individuals connected to our service.- Key responsibilitiesTeam work: Regularly attend meetings with manager to determine activities.
- Support group meetings: Assist with preparing room for meetings, setting out seating and appropriate materials, assisting audio-visual team with set up.
- Support centre programs: Provide practical assistance with regular and special events as required by the manager
- Admin as required
- Capabilities and personal attributes
- Manage Self: Shows personal motivation and commitment to completing work activities effectively; regulates own behaviour and responds appropriately in all circumstances.
- Act Ethically and with Integrity: Is reliable and trustworthy; recognises and speaks out against misconduct, unethical and inappropriate behaviour, including conflicts of interest.
- Show Respect: Responds in culturally appropriate ways.
- Communicate Effectively: Listens to others when they are speaking and asks appropriate, respectful questions; clarifies own understanding.
- Display Resilience: Constructively raises and works through issues and challenges and seeks alternative solutions; keeps control of own emotions and remains calm in the face of challenging situations.
- Lead Safety and Wellbeing: Identifies and follows safe work practices; takes action to address hazards, near misses and incidents.
- Qualifications and experience requirements for the Role
- Experience in events and community programs desired but not essential as training will be provided
- Desire to work as part of a team and learn along the way
- Shows initiative with limited supervision
- Open to the opportunity to work on more complex activities- WWCC and Police Check is required-
- First Aid certificate highly regarded- Time Required & Commitment: As agreed with
- The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation and is committed to protecting children and young people from harm. All child related roles will require the successful completion of a Working with Children Check. _Additionally, certain volunteer roles may require a National Police Check._
