**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**

**The Role**
Reporting to the Director of the Parliamentary Systems Team, the Assistant Director of the Ministerial Office Support Team (the Team) is responsible for the delivery of premier service to our Ministers’ offices to assist with administrative activities and addresses time sensitive matters, where the department can administratively assist. The Team provides support to our Ministers’ offices and their staff and administer a range of portfolio related entitlements regarding the Members of Parliament Staff Act (MoPS Act). The Team is responsible for the recruitment of Departmental Liaison Officers seconded to our Ministers’ offices and their ongoing support. The Team plays a lead role during Parliamentary sitting periods by anchoring the management of the department’s Question Time Briefs.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the Assistant Director may include:

- Managing a small team in supporting the Ministers’ offices and your Director
- Regular contact and meetings with Departmental Liaison Officers (DLOs) and Ministerial staff (when required) both remotely and in person at Parliamentary House
- Provide high level support and advice to DLOs and other departmental staff seconded to our Ministers’ offices on departmental and Government processes and entitlements
- Recruitment of DLOs including training and induction
- Undertake procurement activities and management of accounts and subscriptions for our Ministers’ offices
- Financial management and reporting for our Ministers’ offices
- Management of the Parliamentary courier service contract and the departments Question Time Briefs process.
