MacKellar Group has partnered with Middlemount Coal since 2015, providing a BIG equipment hire fleet with full maintenance service at the Middlemount Coal mine site.

We are an industry leader in the mining and civil earthmoving industries with over 50 years’ experience and operate a large fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment across Australia. We take pride in our people, our safety culture and maintaining our equipment to a high standard.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance (Excavator) Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operations of all maintenance tasks relating to Middlemount's Excavator fleet.

Your new role
- Lead by example in this hands-on role, coordinating the safe and cost-effective maintenance of all equipment, including documentation and reporting
- Ensure maintenance and repairs are executed within safety, time and cost requirements
- Accurately record the daily activities and maintenance tasks
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and effective, high performing teams
- Focused on continuous improvement, with ability to lead teams to develop and implement solutions
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture and record within the team

What you'll need to succeed
- Must have extensive experience supervising Excavator Fitters, ideally working with Liebherr machines
- Trade certificate in Plant Maintenance or equivalent
- Demonstrated success in maintaining an excellent safety record for teams
- Current Mining Supervisor - G1, G8, G9 (formerly S1, S2, S3)
- Current Carry out the Risk Management Process - G2 (RIIRIS402D)
- Current Standard 11 & Drivers Licence

Only those with the relevant experience and qualifications will be considered.
