**THE OPPORTUNITY**

An exciting opportunity has become available for a **Purchasing Officer**to join our** Supply Chain team**based in our **Ormeau** head office**.**This position reports directly to the QLD Purchasing Manager.

This is a **full time, permanent** position working **Monday - Friday**.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Managing suppliers to ensure delivery of product is on time, quality of product meets standards and specifications, and product integrity is maintained through the delivery and storage processes.
- Timely and accurate review of product demand planning and stock levels to ensure purchase orders are placed within supplier lead times.
- Monitor inventory levels, analyse usage patterns, and forecast demand to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and pricing.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance for management review.
- Liaise with various departments to understand their purchasing needs, provide guidance on procurement processes, and ensure timely delivery of required goods and services.
- Involvement in continuous improvement projects and working with stakeholders at Stratco locations nationally.
- Collaborate with team members, other departments and projects as required.
- Strict adherence to our national critical safety rules & contributing to a safe working environment.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Experience in procurement and purchasing, including use of MRP / ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of Supplier performance management, supply chain management, and negotiation techniques.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good problem-solving mindset, with the ability to question process and recommend ways to improve processes.
- Desirable - tertiary qualifications in Business/Commerce, Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning or other related discipline, would be advantageous
- Willingness to enhance the customer experience by working with enthusiasm, energy, and pace.
