**About the role**

We have an opportunity for a **Communications Officer** to be part of our Radio Operations Group, Technology & Communication Services Command. The Communications Officer primary role is responsible for tasking and coordinating activities if police vehicles responding to incidents. The role also processes urgent and non-urgent telephone calls providing timely information to operational police to enable appropriate action to be taken.
- Successful applicants to undertake a paid training course which will be held at the Sydney Police Centre in Surry Hills.
- Shift work including penalty rates.

**Target Question 1**:

Applicants who meet the required standard will then proceed to an assessment centre where short-term memory, multi-tasking, decision making, resilience and problem solving will be assessed. Only applicants who rank highest in this process will proceed to the interview stage.

Initial entry requires undertaking the paid Training Program. This is a fifteen week full-time course, which will be run at the Sydney Police Centre in Surry Hills.

This role is classified as a shift worker in accordance with clause 3.58 of the _Crown Employees (NSW Police Force Administrative Officer and Temporary Employees) Award 2009_. Shift penalties are paid in accordance with clause 89.1 of the Award.
