- Salary Package: from $88,589 - $97,787 (HEW 6), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading. An additional loading may be considered for applicants with significant experience directly relevant to this role.

THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Research Grant Manager to join the Centre for Economic Impacts of Genomic Medicine (GenIMPACT) team to support ground-breaking projects with significant policy impact. In this role you will report to and work closely with the Research Centre Director to support and coordinate the Centre’s substantial grants program. You will provide advice and support across the full grant management lifecycle, including initial stages of grant development, all stages of grant management through to grant completion and reporting. We are seeking an experienced applicant who will be responsible for:
- Management of grant budgeting and preparing financial and progress reports.
- Providing leadership and advice on internal research processes.
- Guidance on the use of Sapphire and RMS systems for grant submission and maintenance of records through such systems.
- Maintaining project management reports related to grants awarded
- Navigation of the contract process
- Preparation of documentation related to the Centre
ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant will be well experienced in grants management, including grant development, grant systems, financial and contract management and reporting. You may have worked in a university research office, supported a substantial research funded Centre or similar body and be excited by the prospect of working in a collaborative team of exceptional researchers.
This role calls for a quick learner, attention to detail, commitment to excellence and demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. You will have well developed problem-solving skills and the ability to identify areas for improvement to optimise the smooth running of a grants program. You will be able to demonstrate expertise in the use of grant-related software such as RMS and Sapphire.

Macquarie University’s Centre for Economic Impacts of Genomic Medicine (GenIMPACT) is a strategic initiative to undertake innovative research on the impact of genomic testing and targeted therapy on patients and cascade testing on extended family members. Our vision is to provide research excellence with highly policy relevance that reflects the experience of families with one or more family members who have a genetic disorder. Our work on genomics is built on our internationally recognised health and productivity research program on the impacts of ill health on the capacity to work and its cascading impacts on income, superannuation and savings for individuals, and for government increased welfare payments and reduced taxation revenue.
Current internationally leading projects are related to the economic impacts of genetic blindness, mitochondrial disease, mental health, chronic pain, childhood cancer, intellectual disability, arthritis and motor neurone disease and new diagnostic and treatment approaches for these conditions.
