About the Role

The Principal Project Officer reports to the nominated supervisor, Partnerships and Programs, First Nations Education.

Appointments in the public sector are merit-based and will be assessed by looking at what you have done previously, the knowledge, skills and experience you have built, your potential for development, and your personal qualities.

Responsibilities include:
Understands the current educational environment and provide advice on processes and protocols for a coordinated implementation approach to a range of strategies.
Demonstrates a high level commitment to professional development and the best practice approach to implement state wide frameworks and processes.
Prepare briefing materials, correspondence, submissions, papers and reports on related activities of the branch.
Develop, promote and facilitate the implementation of state wide curriculum policies, guidelines and practices.
Develop strategies and work in partnerships to embed principles and strategies for effective education in response to the needs and capabilities of learners.
Ensure effective communication, integration, coordination and liaison occurs within State Schools Division, across the department and with other external stakeholders.
Undertake ongoing research and analysis of contemporary issues as they impact on students.

Mandatory Requirements for and Identified Role:
It is a genuine occupational requirement for Identified roles that the position be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1991 for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act.
