**The Role**
The Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Exploitation Specialist works in partnership with the Imaging Radar Discipline Lead to co-lead the team that are responsible for conducting high-impact Synthetic Aperture Radar research and development relevant to the current and future Australian Defence Force capabilities.
Under broad guidance, duties of the SAR Exploitation Specialist will include:
- Leading and shaping the development of high-impact Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) activities, relevant to the Geospatial Intelligence mission that supports the Defence Targeting Enterprise.
- Managing the engagement with industry, academia and across Defence, cultivating a high performing culture to ensure delivery of high impact integrated outcomes.
- Possess excellent communication skills with a track-record of engaging sponsors, stakeholders and collaborators across Defence, industry and academia.

- Build and sustain effective relationships with a network of internal and external research partners across academia, industry and Government.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, lead the development of initiatives including the provision of high-level technical and administrative advice.
- Maintain currency in the disciplines related to Synthetic Aperture Radar capability, and implement scientific and engineering methodologies to solve highly complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills with a track-record of engaging sponsors, stakeholders and collaborators across Defence, industry and academia.
