**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies for program announcements and high-profile policy developments.
- Undertake procurement and contract management for suppliers, including communications and media buying.
- Work closely with specialists in design, digital, audio-visual, and media to ensure seamless execution of communication strategies across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with program and client areas to develop key messaging, content, and ensure effective communication across stakeholders.
- Create and edit web content, social media posts, internal communications, publications, and marketing materials for the department and ministers.
- Conduct evaluations of communication activities and assess their effectiveness in achieving key objectives.
- Supervise and mentor team members, building capability and fostering professional growth within the team.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior strategic communications role within government.
- Proven experience in procurement and managing creative and advertising suppliers.
- Strong strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex communications projects and align them with broader government priorities.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities and deliver results on time and to a high standard.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
- Excellent judgment, with the ability to make sound decisions and escalate issues when necessary.
- Exceptional writing skills, with a focus on accessibility, readability, and attention to detail.
- A collaborative, empathetic team leader with a willingness to mentor and build team capability.
