System Safety Management Lead

The System Safety Management Lead is responsible for managing the platform system safety program for our Defence customer. This program is required to ensure a systematic, holistic approach to management of risk across the platform.
- Description/Tasks:

- Leading and managing a small team of engineers and technical officers providing System Safety support for the relevant ADF platform.
- Development and maintenance of system safety processes and procedures.
- Capturing and analysis of data to define the risk profile across the platform, identifying any trends.
- Evaluation of hazards to ensure actions are taken to mitigate risk.
- Reporting of various System Safety Performance indicators and facilitating working groups with stakeholders.
- Coordination with stakeholders to ensure system safety risks are captured and promulgated.
- Proactively engage in improving and promoting system safety activities to internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to safety initiatives as identified by the SQEHS team. Raise safety initiatives with the SQEHS team to assist in driving safety culture improvements throughout the organisation.
- Qualification/Experience:

- Previous experience in a similar role with demonstrated understanding of aviation regulatory requirements.
- Tertiary qualified engineer or related field.
- Aircraft design and project management experience in civil and/or military

environment.
- Experience in a highly customer-focused environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive and results-oriented with experience working to deadlines and delivering quality results.
- Ability to work as part of an experienced and dedicated team, as well as autonomously.
