**The Role**
As a Defence Learning and Development Officer (L&D Officer) you will be a member of the APS 4 Human Resources job family.

You will be accountable under limited direction to exercise initiative and sound judgement in the performance of complex quality assurance work within an integrated training workforce at the Defence School of Intelligence (DSI).

You will maintain a well-developed understanding of relevant legislative frameworks, and Defence’s mission, policies and instructions to monitor, review and assure the delivery of Defence intelligence training.

You will perform independent procedural collection of learning related information through engagement with the learning audience, review and analyse information to derive thematic trends, and assure training compliance through support to audits.

You may liaise with Subject Matter Experts in support of an audit team and be accountable to set work priorities and allocate work.

**About our Team**
The APS 4 L&D Officer is a pivotal role within the DSI Learning Support Team of DSI, located at Kokoda Barracks, Canungra in Southeast Queensland.

Our small team of specialists is responsible for oversight, compliance and procedural support to training delivered to future Defence intelligence professionals on behalf of the Commanding Officer DSI. DSI is a busy training establishment delivering a wide range of Defence intelligence training to military and APS personnel critical to achieving Australia’s national interests.

Located in the Gold Coast hinterland, Kokoda Barracks offers wonderful amenities including a large gymnasium and pool, banking and café options within a pristine and protected sub-tropical natural environment abundant with native flora and fauna.

Close by, the township of Canungra is located on the famous Scenic Rim tourist route, and within 30 minutes of the Gold Coast that boasts all of the lifestyle opportunities that Southeast Queensland is famous for.

Our team needs someone who can work both autonomously and within a team with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude in seeking constant improvement.
- Proven ability to engage and negotiate with people and develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles and methodologies to successfully capture, analyse, manage, retrieve and disseminate information effectively using appropriate information and repository management systems.
- High level of attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and logical coherence in written and verbal communication.
- Meet and exceed the expectations of stakeholders that use Learning Support Team outputs to improve the delivery of Defence intelligence training.
- Ability to manage and organise your own time and set work priorities in order to meet deadlines.
- A strong commitment to continuous improvement of yourself and the organisation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TSPV (Top Secret Positive Vetting) security clearance.

There is no requirement to have previous experience or qualification in Defence intelligence roles or functions.
