**The Role**
The APS5 Personnel Officer will under limited direction and in accordance with established priorities, principles, methodology and work practices, perform a range of clerical and administrative tasks, which include data entry, electronic file management and responding to enquiries.
Duties include but are not limited to, the following:
- Undertake research and preparing correspondence, develop, maintain and administer correspondence register.
- Liaising with, and providing high quality advice to, other work areas and external clients and deal with inquiries, correspondence and operational duties.
- Assist in maintaining, and administer the personnel information and administrative management processes for the unit utilising Personnel Management Key Solutions (PMKeyS), Objective and unit developed databases.
- Prepare, audit and promulgate reports from PMKeyS in response to information requests.
- Provide personnel, administrative and entitlement policy advice and support to the unit.
- Respond to queries, provide advice and assist management and staff with issues relating to ADF Conditions of Service.
- Assist in the role of the Objective Workgroup Coordinator for LWC and provide training where required to unit members. Assist to review and ensure that Objective Workgroup structure, unit guidance and orders are relevant.
- Liaise with the various Customer Service Centre on administration management issues.
- Review administration submissions from LWC sub-units to determine accuracy, completeness, correct formatting and compliance with ADF/Army policy prior to forwarding to the relevant LWC delegate for signature.
- Respond to queries, provide advice across a broad range of APS HR functions including recruitment, performance management, change management, demonstrate leadership skills and an ability to forge strong working partnerships across the Unit.
- Allocate administration tasks to subordinate units and review and monitor progress. Coordinate and consolidate responses to tasks by Commanding Officer LWC as required.
- Liaise with higher HQ personnel administration staff on an as required basis to effect timely administration.
- Demonstrate and promote behaviour within the work environment that is consistent with ADF and APS values.
**About our Team**
The APS5 Personnel Officer is responsible to the Commanding Officer LWC, through the S1, for the efficient delivery of administrative support and functions across LWC whilst maintaining a close working relationship with E&IG administrative staff across locations. With the CCLK LWC the Personnel Officer is to oversee and deliver accurate Military Personnel Administration to LWC and Sub-Units. The APS5 Personnel Officer is responsible for monitoring assignment of correspondence to correct files and ensuring that correspondence is passed to an appropriate officer within LWC in order for direction/advice to be provided to sub-units where action is required by them.
The APS5 Personnel Officer will provide high level assistance to the Commanding Officer LWC through the S1. The principal activities of this position are to support the work of the S1 by undertaking research, human resources, records management, and governance and associated secretarial support. The position will work within an integrated workforce and involves negotiation and extensive liaison with stakeholders including within the Department.
