Purchasing & Database Coordinator

Our client is a global manufacturer of a niche product range, on the hunt for a driven & strategic Purchasing & Database Coordinator to join their growing operation on a 6-12 month full time temp contract with the view to go permanent down the track.
Reporting into the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Purchasing: Provide accurate and relevant information to internal and external customers, assist with placing orders, generate purchase orders, and continually look for ways to improve business with suppliers and freight forwarders.
- Outstanding customer service: Provide exceptional service to all customers, both internal and external.
- Customer inquiries and complaints: Follow through on customer inquiries and complaints, keeping the customer updated on project progress.
- Teamwork: Participate in and support team decisions, share information, and promote a friendly and cooperative work environment.
- Office administration/archiving: Ensure timely and neat filing of all paperwork, maintain records in line with legislation, and maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
- General duties: Provide backup support to other team members, perform adhoc reporting, and maintain confidentiality.
**About you**:
- Experience with purchasing and database management
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and team members through various means.
- High level Excel skills & high level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail to process purchase orders and item Masterfile data accurately and timely
- Customer-focused mindset, be deadline-focused, organised, and able to learn new skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
