BirdDog Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced full-time Product Manager with deep connections in the Broadcast, Media and Entertainment and AV sectors to lead our multi-disciplinary development team. Established in 2016, BirdDog is a Melbourne-based global video technology company that develops and manufactures high quality hardware and software solutions. The company sells and supports Network Device Interface encoders which allow video-compatible products to communicate, deliver, and receive broadcast quality video in a high quality, low latency manner.

Reporting to the CEO, you will have a keen eye for gaps in product and/or market offerings and an innovative mindset to fill those gaps. You are a highly skilled market analyst with a proven ability to develop and implement product strategy and manage the full lifecycle of product production; from concept, release through to end-of-life.

This position requires regular travel and the effective and successful management of your product portfolio. Crucially, you will possess the ability to develop, build, and maintain successful relationships across our customer base, strategic partners, resellers, and distributors.

The salary offered is $100,000pa plus superannuation plus bonuses.

**The position has the following objectives the employee will deliver on**:

- Define the product strategy and roadmap;
- Drive the product and business-planning process across cross-functional teams within BirdDog;
- Analyse consumer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships and deliver appropriate strategic direction and business plans to the Leadership team;
- Assess current competitor offerings, seeking opportunities for differentiation;
- Develop, implement, communicate and maintain production timelines across multiple departments;
- Appraise new product ideas and implement go-to-market plans;
- Provide internal training and relevant materials to ensure all departments are adequately briefed; and
- When necessary, you will work closely with the support team to escalate production bugs to Engineering, providing all of the information and data needed to quickly analyse and triage issues.

**The key duties and responsibilities that attach to the position are as described below**:

- Able to work effectively across a global team;
- Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, product launch through to end-of-life planning;
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams;
- Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI (Return on Investment);
- Analyse market data to develop sales strategies, and define product objectives for effective marketing communications plans;
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams on the development, QA, and release of products and balance of resources to ensure success for the entire organisation;
- Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates BirdDog and its product features across primary market segments;
- Collaborate closely and play an active role in support escalation cases with both the Customer Support and Sales Engineering teams, leveraging advanced troubleshooting skills and deep product knowledge to resolve member issues as quickly as possible;
- You are responsible for identifying opportunities to improve the knowledge and training of relevant BirdDog employees and channel partners, as well as processes and tool improvements to further improve our support services and tools;
- Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities;
- Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples;
- Perform product demonstrations to customers;
- Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals;
- Develop sales tools and collateral; and
- Any other duties & responsibilities delegated to you which are within your skill/competency.

To discharge the key duties and responsibilities detailed above, you must possess the requisite technical abilities and interpersonal skills for the position:

- Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia;
- Superior level of English language: comprehension, verbal, communicative, presentational & written;
- Experience presenting to individuals or groups in person, at trade events and via virtual meeting tools;
- Strong experience in a dynamic product management role;
- Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle;
- Highly effective cross-functional team management;
- Previous experience delivering finely tuned product marketing strategies;
