What is our Administration Officer role?
We are looking for a highly capable Administration Officer with excellent customer service skills who is pivotal in the effective running of our brand new Child and Adolescent Forensic Service (CAFS) clinic in Northbridge. You'll be the first point of contact for people accessing the service – providing a clinic reception, greeting young people and their families attending the clinic, and answering calls from referrers and other stakeholders. Your organisational skills will ensure a smooth-running clinic. You'll be managing medical records, updating payroll and procurement systems and working in collaboration with the clinical team to support clinical administrative tasks and help facilitate positive consumer and family experiences of the service.
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be a positive, resilient individual who can use initiative, problem solve and work independently while being a team player. You'll bring, office management and secretarial skills. High level word-processing skills, awareness and experience in the use of Microsoft 365 applications and a good knowledge of your capabilities is essential to the role.
CAFS is part of the State Forensic Mental Health Service (SFMHS) and is a newly established and expanding statewide specialist community mental health service. The service is aimed at 10–18-year-olds with serious mental health difficulties, who are in contact with the justice system or at risk of serious offending. The CAFS clinical services are delivered in partnership with a non-government organisation, currently Yirra Dandjoo, provided by Centrecare and Waalitj Foundation, who offer psychosocial and cultural support. CAFS forms part of the SFMHS Child and Adolescent stream which also includes the Neurodevelopmental and Mental Health Service within Youth Detention and the Links Children's Court program.
