A new opportunity currently exists for an experienced Stores and Purchasing Officer to join our busy team. Based at Pinkenba this role plays a vital function in the successful operation of the Cement Plant by ensuring supplies and purchasing requirements are met. This role is included in the broader Procurement and Stores team and will contribute to delivering value across Wagner’s diverse business.

**Duties will include**:

- Ensure the store is maintained in a clean and safe state
- Overseeing the daily goods receipt of inward goods
- Overseeing and managing the distribution of outwards moving goods
- Process warranty returns and goods stock returns
- Planning and implementing rolling cycle count of material stock levels, monthly and annual intervals and other actions required to maintain inventory integrity
- Contribute towards site stocking strategy and manage inventory items within Pronto
- Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Sourcing alternative suppliers and products
- Raise and process purchase requisitions and orders
- Maintain overall levels of stock to desired inventory levels
- Organising freight and shipping
- Any other duties associated with the role

**The successful applicant will possess the following**:

- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Current Drivers Licence
- Forklift licence
- Previous purchasing experience, preferably in the construction material industry
- Experience in stock control, receipt and dispatch
- Good communication skills
- Strong problem solving abilities
- Prior experience in Pronto or similar ERP systems is advantageous
