**How you'll make a difference**:
The Director, System Service Design Adults and Older Adults will play a key leadership role in the programmatic design and planning for the establishment of age-based service streams for adult and older adult.
Leading a unit that includes two teams - the Crisis and Bed-Based Reform Team, and the Core Functions and Community Services Team - the Director will have a particular focus on design and planning service streams prior to transitioning them to the systems management branch or other relevant areas of the Division when they advance to implementation stage.
The Director will build effective links across teams in the unit, branch and division to ensure that service system design supports implementation of key reforms and future system design. The Director will develop and maintain strong relationships with sector partners, other Department of Health Divisions and Victorian Government departments.
**Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate**:
- Demonstrated understanding of system planning and health system design requirements and processes.
- Thinks and acts with a long-term perspective, ensuring that plans and outcomes contribute to cross-departmental and government priorities.
- Builds and coaches team members to uplift the strategic skills and to grow workforce strategy capability; aligns team with the organisational values and goals through effective people management and modelling, maximises effectiveness by selecting, developing, managing and motivating a high performing team, clearly defines role expectations, monitors performance, provides timely and constructive feedback and facilitates employee development, ensures staff are effectively deployed through effective workforce planning practices.
- Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably; uses analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems; has creative ideas and can project how these can link to innovations.
