We are currently looking for a passionate, dynamic, and engaging Nurse Leader for the role of Nurse Unit Manager within our APU2 and Older Persons Units.
This is a meaningful leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the operational direction of the ward, supporting both the Director of Nursing and General Manager as part of the hospital’s broader leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the unit’s operations to ensure efficient and effective management
- Foster a culture of excellence in patient and family-centred care
- Provide mentorship and support to your team
- Manage human, financial, and material resources effectively
- Deliver direct patient care when required
- Ensure compliance with NSQHS Standards
- Current AHPRA registration
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in inpatient mental health settings
- Familiarity with NSQHS/ACHS Standards and HoNOS
- Proven leadership in building high-performing teams
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Sound understanding of labour management and private health funding
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
- Commitment to clinical excellence and customer-focused care
- High level of computer literacy (MS Office and relevant databases)
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
