**About the role...**
You will play a key role in supporting the business manage risk, providing input into the development of frameworks, policies, supporting standards, processes and procedures by collaborating and partnering with your team and stakeholders, advancing understanding of our risk, obligation and control environment.
You will support the monitoring of the effectiveness of controls, compliance with obligations and risk appetite to support the consistent delivery of meaningful value to our customers. Where risk events or compliance breaches occur, you will support the tracking, monitoring and remediation.
You will support the consistent implementation of change by ensuring that Great Southern Bank's frameworks, policies, supporting standards, processes and procedures are understood and applied.
You report to the Head of Business Controls, CIO, a key influencer across Great Southern Bank. Your key stakeholders include the leadership team of the CIO, as well as first
- and second-line risk and compliance professionals across Great Southern Bank.
About you...- Minimum 2 years in financial services with a strong understanding of operational risk and compliance in the financial services industry- Demonstrated understanding of the functions and priorities within a Risk and/ or Business Controls team- Familiarity of effective risk governance and reporting requirements for a financial institution- Experience in Retail Banking highly desirable- Experience in data analysis and data interrogation is highly desirable- Degree in technology, management, business, finance or related discipline (essential)- Knowledge of relevant Finance industry standards, acts, codes and legislation (e.g., APRA, Consumer Credit Code, Credit Union Code of Practice, Privacy Act, Trade Practices Act, FSRA) (essential)- Member of professional Risk Management and/or Governance Associations (desirable)- Deeply passionate about building capability and confidence with regards to risk and compliance across your business partner teams- Motivating, engaging and influential in driving high service standards- You are a team player. You seek the ideas and experiences from your peers to broaden your thinking and problem solving.- Analytical, data-driven, practical and balanced in your decision-making and recommendations- Approachable, collaborative, positive, enthusiastic and a strong negotiator
