The Chief Information Officer’s Business Controls team plays a key role in strengthening front line accountability for risk management, providing thought leadership, advice and challenge in the management of risks, obligations and controls, and overseeing adherence to risk appetite.
You report to the Head of Business Controls, CIO, a key influencer across Great Southern Bank. Your key stakeholders include the leadership team of the CIO, as well as first
- and second-line risk and compliance professionals across Great Southern Bank.
**About you**
You will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications- Demonstrated experience in a similar risk and/or compliance role, preferably in the 1LOD and in Banking and Financial Services Industry- Experience in formulating and implementing compliance and compliance procedures- High level of understanding and practical experience of Operational Risk- Demonstrated experience with industry and governance standards (e.g. Financial Accountability Regime (FAR), Three Lines of Defence, ISO 31000, APRA CPS220)- Strong Experience in risks relating to banking, and the legislative/regulatory requirements around these (e.g. Privacy Act, Corporations Act, NCCP Act).- Strong understanding of industry legislation and regulatory requirements, including current and upcoming regulatory change.- Proven ability to assess the level of risk to the business and to inform the development and execution of action plans to mitigate said risk- Experience in managing and influencing multi-faceted stakeholders (internal and external) to balance competing priorities, different needs, and non-aligned expectations- Strategic thinking and the ability to deliver solutions to risk and compliance issues, including experience in developing and delivering Risk and compliance strategies aimed to enhance 1LOD capability and uplift maturity.
- Essential_- Degree-level (Technology, Finance, Business, Commerce, Law)
- Desirable_- Governance Institute Australia qualification- Risk Management Institute of Australasia certification- Knowledge of requirements of corporate governance, regulatory affairs, and/or risk management.- Knowledge of relevant Financial Services regulatory and compliance considerations.
