ABOUT THE ROLE
The Information Security specialist is a senior member of the Information Services (IS) team, whose responsibility is the strategic direction, architecture, design, security, and management of QAO's information assets.

**Responsibilities**:

- be responsible for maintaining and coordination of the Information Security Management System
- provide thought leadership and specialist expert advice to the Chief Information and Technology Officer, executive management group and key internal and external stakeholders.
- build and maintain influential and consultative peer group networks across government, external partners, and the wider IT industry,
- utilise extensive knowledge of industry and government best practice and contribute to knowledge and resource sharing between other QLD Government entities and interstate audit offices
- develop guidelines and best practices for managing business change and security throughout QAO, in alignment with ITIL and QAO's Data Governance framework and Information Security Management System (ISMS)
- promote and model the established QAO core values of: Engage, Respect, Inspire, and Deliver
- take reasonable care for your own and others' health and safety; follow health and safety instructions; and support and cooperate with health and safety systems, policies, and procedures.
- be passionate about customer service, with a strong will to make a difference.
- ability to work in a dynamic environment, prioritising, and multi-tasking effectively.
- participate in security management, specifically ensuring the security of devices and services to protect QAO.
- using advanced tools, to eliminate threats by identifying potential vulnerabilities across our entire network and receive real-time alerts for potential threats.
- use Microsoft cybersecurity services to provide an extra layer of security to Microsoft 365 and our in-house IT infrastructure and remote devices.
