Strathfield Council is located in Sydney’s Inner West, where the current population of 46,000 residents is projected to grow over 55,000 by 2036. **The Opportunity**
The Finance team at Council is looking to welcome their new ‘Coordinator Rates’ on a full-time permanent basis. The position is responsible for managing the end-to-end rates administration process for Council, ensuring its accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes overseeing the levying, issuance, collection, and reconciliation of rates and annual charges.

The Coordinator Rates is also responsible for implementing and maintaining an accurate and efficient rates management system including processes to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction. This position reports directly into the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and has 1 direct report (Senior Rates Officer), whilst also supported by 1-2 graduates, when needed.

**About You**
Ideally, you will bring with you:

- Experience in rates administration, revenue administration or a similar finance role - preferably within a local government context (but not mandatory).
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or a relevant field.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including ratepayers, council staff, and external agencies.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse rates data, identify trends, and provide insights to inform decision-making and improve rates administration processes to ensure the best outcomes for Council.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality in rates administration activities, including levying, billing, collection, and reconciliation.
