**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community or Developmental Paediatrician to join our multidisciplinary team at Melton Health and provide clinical leadership to the team of enthusiastic Paediatricians and trainees working in our community health service. The region has experienced rapid growth in recent years, with a large migrant population. You will deliver high quality compassionate care within the multidisciplinary team at Melton, which includes speech therapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, and psychologists - making a meaningul impact in the care of childrne wth complex developmental and behavioural conditions.

You will be actively involved in teaching and mentoring advanced trainees in community child health including supervision of clinical work and provision of education to trainees, medical students, allied health, and nursing staff.

As a clinician leader you will be a visible and engaged clinical champion for the provision of culturally appropriate, high-quality, comprehensive paediatric community health services. You will oversee day-to-day issues related to paediatric clinical care, liaising with the Manager for Paediatric Allied Health and individual clinicians within the unit - supported by the Head of Paediatric Services. You will participate in quality, safety, and risk management activities to support continuous improvement. Clinical audit and research is encouraged, and opportunities to collaborate on projects that are occurring at other sites are supported.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Provision of specialist paediatric assessment for children presenting with developmental or behavioural conditions
- Leadership and support for the team of paediatricians and trainees working within the unit
- Participation in audit and research to improve clinical practice and outcomes for children
- Participate in service development and improvement

**About you**:
Essential:

- AHPRA registration
- Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as a General Paediatrician or Community Child Health specialist
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and liaise with people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds
- Strong organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritise tasks and resources

Desirable:

- Minimum of 3 years post-Fellowship clinical experience
- Demonstrated interest or experience in clinical leadership
- Experience in clinical audit and research in a relevant field
