**Overview of the Team and role**
The National Investigations and Oversight Team is responsible for supporting the objective of Comcare and the Regulatory Operations Group to be a nationally consistent, risk-based Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulator by ensuring the delivery of effective, consistent, and targeted national regulatory operations to organisations within the Comcare Scheme.
The team is responsible for managing, monitoring, and reporting on WHS Undertakings and major hazard facilities. The team is also responsible for oversight of Health and Safety Representative and Entry Permit Holder Training requirements in line with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act).
The team undertakes complex criminal investigations into alleged breaches of the WHS Act, conducts enquiries into fatal incidents reported to Comcare, and provides support and assistance to families and injured workers following a work-related death or serious injury.
The Assistant Director Family Support and WHS Undertakings is responsible for the management of Comcare’s Family Support Framework, including the workflow of the Family Liaison Officer, to ensure that families and injured persons are supported. The position is also responsible for assessment, review, monitoring and reporting in relation to progress of Work Health and Safety Undertakings.
This position will support, plan, implement and manage operational and strategic initiatives for the NIO Team.
**Mandatory Qualifications**
Tertiary qualifications, or high level extensive demonstrated experience in a mental health related discipline.
**Special Conditions**
Some intra and interstate travel is required, including overnight absences.
**Security Clearance**
Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance.
