About the Role
Reporting to the Cloud Director, the Principal is the most senior technical authority within the Cloud Services team, responsible for ensuring that what is sold aligns with what is delivered. This role connects pre-sales, solution design, and service execution, ensuring seamless transitions from concept to implementation.
The Principal works closely with the sales team to refine technical requirements, shape solutions, and ensure they are both commercially viable and operationally sound. They take ownership of solution scoping and quoting, guiding customers through the pre-sales process and ensuring a structured handover to the delivery team. Throughout the project lifecycle, they provide oversight to maintain technical integrity and successful execution.
Alongside technical leadership, the Principal plays a key role in mentoring and developing team capabilities across pre-sales and delivery. They provide structured guidance to engineers and consultants, fostering skills development and ensuring the team is equipped to deliver high-quality cloud solutions.
In addition to shaping and overseeing solution delivery, the Principal serves as the senior-most technical escalation point for cloud-related issues across both project delivery and managed services. Their deep technical expertise enables them to resolve complex challenges, ensuring service continuity and customer satisfaction.
Beyond day-to-day operations, the Principal helps drive the strategic development of Orro’s cloud services, identifying opportunities to enhance existing offerings and introduce new solutions based on market trends and customer needs. They also champion continuous improvement, focusing on automation, efficiency, and best practices to optimise service delivery.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and leadership capability to ensure Orro delivers scalable, high-quality cloud solutions while strengthening internal capability and fostering innovation.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Validate the technical configuration of cloud solutions before implementation.
Collaborate with the sales team to scope solutions and define technical specifications.
Take ownership of the transition from sales to delivery, ensuring projects are properly scoped and can be executed efficiently.
Provide mentorship and technical leadership to pre-sales and delivery teams, supporting skills development and capability growth.
Ensure thorough documentation of solutions, improvements, and issues.
Act as the senior-most technical escalation point for cloud services, covering both project delivery and managed services support.
Recommend and drive improvements to cloud service offerings, aligning them with customer needs and market trends.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on automation, efficiency gains, and best practices in cloud service delivery.
Ensure compliance with Orro’s Information Security Standards Policy.
Perform additional duties as required.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Extensive experience in cloud solution design, validation, and implementation.
Expertise in Azure, Office 365, and Windows Server systems.
Advanced scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Graph, Terraform).
Strong networking and cloud architecture experience.
Ability to mentor and lead technical teams across pre-sales and delivery.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
