APS Level 6 (Technical Officer Level 4)
- $84,670 - $96,267 plus 15.4% super
- Sydney, Hobart
The Australian Government has committed up to $236.0 million over the next 10 years to address critical, long-standing risks in Australia’s flood gauge network in the nation’s most flood-prone regions. The funding will simplify flood warning network ownership and maintenance in high-risk areas, by enabling the Bureau to acquire, upgrade and integrate local government-owned, and some state government-owned, rain and river gauges into its existing flood warning network across Australia.
Flood warning infrastructure enables the Bureau to provide communities and emergency services with riverine flood forecasts and warnings used to support disaster preparedness, response and recovery.
To support this initiative, we are seeking enthusiastic and qualified Hydrographers, Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation Technicians or Engineers, ideally with previous field experience.
You take pride in developing and mentoring staff. Your strong teamwork abilities ensure you can empower and inspire the field teams you are responsible for managing.
