Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is seeking a high-performing and innovative Principal Advisor (Data Analysis) to contribute to our vision of creating a single integrated transport network accessible to everyone.
The Data Analysis team is responsible for performing strategic analysis to inform complex road safety policy development, direct road safety infrastructure investment, and measure the performance of road safety policies and programs. As the Principal Advisor (Data Analysis), you will lead and oversee complex data analysis, contributing to research and programs to reduce road trauma in Queensland.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead and undertake statistical analysis and reporting of registration, driver license, infringement, and road crash data to enable evidence-based policy decisions and effective infrastructure program development to reduce road trauma in Queensland.
- Lead strategic analysis to inform the development of and monitor the effectiveness of strategies aimed at changing road user behaviour and reducing road trauma.
- Mentor, coach, and proactively build a high-performance specialist team in analysis, visualization, and reporting of registration, driver license, infringement, and road crash data, consistent with departmental workforce management strategies.
**Desirable requirements**:
- Relevant qualifications in data analysis, statistics, or a related field.
- Strong experience in leading and managing data analysis projects, preferably in a road safety or transportation environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
