**About the Centre/Service**

Gordon Street Pre-School is a community-run sessional kindergarten nestled away in the quiet bayside suburb of Beaumaris. Gordon Street Kindergarten has been a part of the Bayside Community for over 60 years, having been established in 1959. It is a community-based, not-for-profit kindergarten, managed by a parent-run Committee of Management that is elected each year at an annual general meeting. Gordon Street Pre-School maintains a philosophy that children learn most effectively through a meaningful play-based program that is developmentally and age-appropriate. Each child’s unique learning style is respected, and children are provided with both free and structured play to enable development of their social, emotional, physical, cognitive and communication skills. The environment is friendly, safe, secure, inclusive and respectful; inspiring a community of learners both socially and independently.

**Description**

Gordon Street Pre-School is seeking a passionate and motivated Diploma or Cert III qualified Educator to join their small and close-knit team from the start of Term 1 2025 in our 3 year old program and Extended Care.

The 3 year old program runs Mondays and Tuesdays with a maximum of 25 children, the Extended Care program runs Wednesdays with a maximum of 22 children from both the 3 year old and 4 year old program. All sessions are 8:30am-4pm.

The successful applicant will work alongside a Teacher and Educator in the 3 year old program as a team of three and an Activity Group Leader in the Extended Care program. The Educator will assist in the delivery of high-quality programs that nurtures the growth and development of children through play. They will be an essential part of the Gordon Street Pre-School team, working collaboratively with Educators, children and families to deliver safe, inclusive and engaging programs.

**Qualifications**

The successful applicant will work alongside a Teacher and Educator in the 3 year old program as a team of three and an Activity Group Leader in the Extended Care program. A passion for early childhood education

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with educators, parents, children, and the wider community

Strong sense of teamwork and a collaborative approach to work

Understanding of the National Quality Framework, VEYLDF, and National Laws and Regulations

Understanding of the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme

Diploma or Cert III of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent as approved by ACECQA)

Working with Children Check

Mandatory Reporting Certificate

Current first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma management training

Police check
