**People, Safety & Environmental Manager**
Based in the
**Newcastle NSW region**, the People, Safety & Environmental Manager will be a key member of the Executive team and accountable for leading the People, Safety & Environmental team.
As an experienced People, Safety & Environmental executive, you will appreciate the benefits of a strategic business partnering model. Developing strong relationships, fostering a workplace culture that is positive and aligned with vision, values, and goals as well as a commitment to continuous improvement will be measures of your success.
As a forward-thinking People, Safety & Environmental Manager you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and leading the strategic and operational activities of the Human Resources, Health, Safety and Environment function. This would encompass; Industrial and Employee Relations, Workforce Planning, Attraction and Retention of Talent, Learning & Development, Reward & Recognition, Compensation and Benefits, Safety, Health, Environment, Talent Management and Community Relations.
**What you can bring**:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources, Health, Safety, Business, or another relevant discipline
- Senior HR and Safety leadership experience in an industry with a large and diverse workforce
- An ability to lead, mentor and develop a team of People and Safety professionals
- A successful track record in driving organisational change
- Superior knowledge and expertise to advise on WHS, Workers Compensation including self
- insurance, injury and illness prevention management.
- A pragmatic approach to problem-solving with independent thinking and sound judgment
- Ability to influence with excellent communication and negotiation skills
- High standard of professionalism and strong business and financial acumen.
- Experience working with a unionised workforce and demonstrated capacity to grow and build key stakeholder relationships is highly desirable.
