Operations Tradesperson

**Permanent Full Time Opportunity**
**38-hour week with a 9-day fortnight**
**Salary from $62,657.40 to $72,683.00 p a plus 11% Superannuation**

We are looking for an **Operations Tradesperson** to join our Construction Team.

Located in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW, 1.5 hours south-west of Sydney - Wingecarribee Shire Council is working to create and nurture a vibrant & diverse community in harmony with the region's urban, agricultural & natural environments.

**About the Role**

The infrastructure branch is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Councils assets and infrastructure. The role of Operations Tradesperson works in small specialist or project teams involved in operations of roads, maintenance and construction.

**Essential Criteria**
- Demonstrated experience in construction and/or maintenance (roads and drainage).
- Demonstrated practical experience in the operation of a range of plant and machinery relevant to the field.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in manual labouring roles across a variety of projects in construction and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions within a team environment, and to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Practical understanding of Workplace Health and Safety, awareness of environmental impacts, legislation and responsibilities
- Current WHS Construction Induction White Card.
- Current Medium Rigid (MR) Drivers Licence.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Current Traffic Controller (Old Blue Card) and/or implement Traffic Control Plans (Old Yellow Card) Ticket
- Confined space ticket
- Working near live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker certification
- Level 1 Accredited Chainsaw - Trim & Crosscut Fallen Trees.
- Demonstrated experience in concrete and pipeline labouring
- First Aid certificate
- Current Heavy Rigid (HR) Drivers Licence.
- Certification in Asbestos Awareness
- Certificate III in Civil Construction
