
Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Lifestyle Coordinator to join our team. We are a family run and owned organisation and provide a home for people requiring all levels of care. The organisation is highly regarded in the community.
As a Lifestyle Coordinator you will use your skills for:
- Developing, implementing and evaluation of leisure and social opportunities in conjunction with residents, families and other members of the healthcare team including input into lifestyle expenditure.
- Supporting our residents’ personal, social and emotional well being, through the planning and delivery of innovative and engaging activities including residents with dementia and individuals with challenging behaviours
- Maintaining the quality of life of residents that takes into account their physical, psychological and spiritual needs
- Nurturing individual interests, maintaining motivation and stimulation of residents through relevant activities and personal support, maintaining close relationships with families
- A willingness to energetically involve yourself in activities and entertainment
- Working collaboratively with clinical staff in providing guidance to Personal Care Assistants to ensure residents are encouraged to actively participate in activities of interest to them
- Appropriate assessments including their life story or history that will form an integrated care plan
- Coordinating outings that allow the residents to stay in communication and have meaningful relationships within their chosen community in a safe and healthy way
- Ensuring volunteers are well coordinated and integrated into the team
To be considered for this role you will have:
- Diploma in Leisure and Health or Certificate IV in Community Services (Leisure and Health), Diversional Therapy and/or relevant qualification at Diploma level
- Previous experience in a Lifestyle Coordinator position in residential aged care
- Able to proactively lead, coach and develop lifestyle staff
- Ability to assess each residents social and emotional needs and design appropriate, individual lifestyle programs to meet their needs
- An understanding of the ageing process and caring for older people
- Self-motivation with well-developed organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, delegate and attend to multiple tasks
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Ability to speak either Greek/Italian/Maltese/Arabic an advantage.
- The ability to work as part of a team or autonomously
- Current Worker Screening Check
- Current Victorian Driver Licence
- Current COVID vaccinations
- Current Influenza vaccination
