Purpose of the Role

The (Stream) Catering Team Member (Program/Focus) supports the Food Services Team Leader/Coordinator to prepare food, serve food and provide quality customer service. Attention to maintaining a clean, safe, hygienic and healthy work environment is critical.
Key Activities and Expectations
Undertake Assistant Duties
- Assist the Coordinator in meeting daily outcomes by preparing meals, making tea/coffee and serving customers.
- Provide quality customer service.
- Assisting site Coordinator with other tasks as directed.
- Appropriate customer service delivery.
- Clean and hygienic kitchen and surroundings in keeping with health regulations.
Provide Quality Customer Service
- Exhibiting friendliness, a professional image of the service, displaying professionalism and integrity at all times.
- Accurate information provided to customers.
- Refer people to appropriate Salvation Army services. Follow up with Manager if unsure.
Maintain a Safe and Healthy Environment
- Immediately report any health and safety concerns, notifiable incidents and near misses, to Coordinator and ensure any hazards are controlled until rectified.
- Ensure hazard, incident and accident form is completed when required in a timely manner.
- All volunteers are to be mindful of their own health and to take care of the health and safety of others.
- Volunteers are required to comply with all TSA work, health and safety policies and procedures as applicable to their workplace.
Time & Roster Commitment - Thursdays 9am to 1.30pm, or as agreed to.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements for the Position
- Experience in similar role preferred.
- Able to stand and be on your feet for hours at a time.
- Barista skills would be highly regarded.
Mandatory Requirements of the Position
- Complete The Salvation Army (TSA) Mission Volunteer registration, induction and training - TSA is a ChildSafe workplace.
- Integrity checks as required for the role.
