**As the Project Officer you will**:

- Participate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, and continuously improve strategies and systems for tourism and visitor management in protected areas, state forests and marine parks.
- Provide advice and assistance to regional staff, other department staff and external stakeholders on tourism and visitor management issues.
- Assist in the development of policies and operating procedures relating to management of tourism and outdoor recreation on protected areas, state forests and marine parks.
- Assist the Unit Manager to represent the Department at industry forums, interdepartmental and other committees.
- Prepare briefings, reports, recommendations and correspondence and answer inquiries on tourism and visitor management issues.
- Provide general administrative support to the unit.
- Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.

- Research, analysis and problem solving.
- Ability to be an effective member of the team either working autonomously or within the team environment.
- Ability to manage projects related to tourism and recreation in protected areas, state forests and marine parks
