About the Role
Do you have a passion for people and their interaction with the work environment? We have a rewarding opportunity based at our Wagerup Refinery for a suitably experienced professional in the role of Health & Safety (H&S) Superintendent working a Monday to Friday roster.
Our Health & Safety (H&S) team supports employees across Wagerup Refinery and Bunbury Port. Reporting to the Location H&S Manager, you’ll help lead a dynamic, high-performing team, guiding operational personnel, contractors, and frontline leaders on H&S matters. Your focus will be on maintaining mine safety management system compliance and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
You are accountable for and will undertake the following duties:
- Mentor and support the safety team through coaching, training facilitation, and career development planning.- Provide strategic and operational advice to the H&S Manager to ensure that training and development is suitable for the operation and associated risks.- Support the H&S Manager as required, including tracking and facilitation of Statutory Reporting, liaising with Corporate and Regulatory officials.- Support implementation of the H&S management strategy, mine safety management system framework and H&S risk reduction programs, ensuring priority remains on critical risk management.- Conduct trend analysis and interrogate governance systems, to identify continuous improvement focus areas, and value add by initiating and participating in special projects.- Participate in and/or lead H&S critical functions for Wagerup and Bunbury Port, including risk management, auditing, change management and major incident investigations.- Coordinate the implementation of Regional and Global HS initiatives and projects.- Identify and initiate localised Fatal and Serious Injury Prevention initiatives and influence leaders to reduce risk and share best practice.

What you can bring to the role- Tertiary qualifications in H&S or related fields.- Strong Health & Safety related experience, ideally in a heavy industry or industrial environment.-
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to lead people in the continuous improvement of health and safety systems, and performance.
