Responsibilities:
  • Perform surface preparation on steel or hard composition objects, ensuring the removal of all contamination and achieving the specified finish
  • Apply paint or similar coatings using spraying or brushing techniques
  • Review painting specifications and comply with the required standards
  • Blast to profile tolerances and specifications
  • Take precise measurements when measuring blast profile
  • Maintain accurate records of painting thickness, including DFTs, paint reports, salt testing, etc., as necessary
  • Manage inventory of materials, including paints and consumables, and notify the supervisor of any shortages
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of machines and equipment
  • Provide guidance and assistance to apprentices and trades assistants
Requirements:
  • Local residency in the Southwest region
  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in Industrial Painting or Blasting OR Relative experience
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Work at Heights & Confined Space Tickets
  • Dogging/Rigging certification (preferred but not essential)
  • Forklift Ticket (preferred but not essential)
  • Physical fitness for manual labour and ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening
  • Strong commitment to safety and reliable work ethic
