**About the role**:
The Operations Manager - Regional VIC is primarily responsible for the coordination of VIC regional operations to ensure processes are consistent with Team Global Express Group policies and legislatively compliant. Working closely with the GM MEL/ADL/PER and regional branch managers to build and strengthen the regional network and identify new strategic opportunities to improve service delivery and performance in a cost-effective way. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the sales team in the generation of new or expanded quality revenue growth. The regional operations manager VIC must have a customer first mindset and drive this mindset throughout the VIC region.
**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Branch Management - General oversight of Geelong and Mildura branch operations reviewing operational and financial performance with local branch managers.
- Direct, lead and motivate team members, and ensure team members are developed to their full potential.
- VIC Regional network and country alliances:
- Evaluation of existing business relationships and service levels across both branch and agent networks
- Cost comparison/benchmarking agent costs (ie. Kg,con and pallet rates)
- Performing or assisting with compliance audits (e.g. linehaul, Dangerous Goods (DG) and Work Health & Safety)
- Measurement and reporting KPIs by agent and/or VIC regional depots and lanes
- POD and invoice management (minimising revenue leakage)
- Customer liaison and dispute resolution - country movement
- Seek out new business synergies and other improvement opportunities (e.g. capital investment, cost saving measures etc.) Propose corrective action recommendations and where appropriate restructure existing processes to maximise efficiency and ensure consistency.
- At all times ensure adequate site security is in place and maintained
- Manage and monitor equipment utilisation.
- Ensure customer service levels meet customer expectations.
- Adhoc project work (regional focus)
- Experience in working with Union partners
