Sydney, Australia Motorola Solutions Full time

**Company Overview**:
At Motorola Solutions, we believe that everything starts with our people. We’re a global close-knit community, united by the relentless pursuit to help keep people safer everywhere. Our critical communications, video security and command center technologies support public safety agencies and enterprises alike, enabling the coordination that’s critical for safer communities, safer schools, safer hospitals and safer businesses. Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future.

***Department Overview**: Noggin a Motorola Solutions business, is a recognised global leader in resilience management, offering a next-generation, integrated platform that helps organisations navigate risk, disruption, and crisis with confidence. Our award-winning technology brings together operational resilience, business continuity, emergency response, safety, and security operations into one unified system.

The Product team is a dynamic, cross-functional group responsible for planning, designing, and delivering high-quality solutions that are intuitive, powerful, and human-centred. We work closely with stakeholders—including customers, engineering, marketing, and sales—to analyse market trends, synthesise feedback, and prioritise features. We play a vital role in shaping experiences that drive real business outcomes while delighting users.
**We’re looking for a talented Product Designer (UX/UI) who is passionate about systems thinking, visual design, and delivering polished, practical solutions. In this role, you’ll split your time between maintaining and evolving our design system (building reusable components, creating documentation, and supporting governance) and designing end-to-end product experiences that help users solve complex problems with clarity and ease. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to deliver intuitive, cohesive experiences across our platform.

**Basic Requirements**:
Key Responsibilities (What you’ll do)
- Maintain and evolve our design system: create new components, update existing patterns, and ensure documentation is clear, usable, and aligned to engineering needs
- Deliver high-quality, user-centred designs across the full product lifecycle, from discovery to execution
- Build polished, thoughtful visual designs with strong attention to layout, typography, motion, and micro-interactions
- Manage your own design projects independently, seeking guidance where needed - setting expectations, communicating progress, and delivering quality outcomes
- Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure high-fidelity implementation, and provide clear design specifications and guidance
- Improve and expand our Figma libraries, ensuring consistency, scalability, and ease of use across teams
- Create and maintain clear, concise design documentation for components, patterns, behaviours, and usage guidelines to support adoption and scalability
- Communicate design intent and system rationale effectively across teams, making the design system accessible and usable for both designers and developers
- Contribute to team rituals such as design critiques, system reviews, and product walkthroughs
- Stay current on design systems best practices, visual design trends, accessibility standards, and front-end technology developments
- Bring a proactive, detail-oriented, and feedback-driven approach to your work

Qualifications (What we’re looking for)
- 4+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing both design system contributions and polished product UIs
- Solid experience working with design systems - creating components, managing libraries, documenting guidelines, and scaling usage across teams
- Strong proficiency in Figma - libraries, variables, auto-layout, interactive components, and design tokens
- Strong visual design skills - layout, typography, colour, spacing, and hierarchy
- Ability to create clear, maintainable design documentation that bridges design and engineering needs
- Solid understanding of front-end principles (HTML, CSS, JS) and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams
- Comfortable managing small to medium-sized design projects with a good level of independence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain design decisions clearly and concisely
- Experience working in Agile product teams
- A proactive attitude — you take ownership, solve problems, and find ways to add value

It will also be beneficial (not mandatory) if you have:

- Experience designing SaaS or enterprise platform design experience
- Experience conducting or interpreting usability testing
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)

**Other Requirements**:

- Successful applicants will be required to pass a police security clearance

**How to apply**:
Please include a portfolio showcasing examples of:

- Design systems you’ve helped build or maintain, including documentation
