Australian Packers and Craters has been manufacturing custom built timber packaging products and offering Queensland a specialized packing service for over 60 years. We are one of Queensland’s most well-known timber packaging providers for industries such as defence, mining and gas, aerospace and everything in-between.

This role offers you the opportunity to work exclusively in the factory as a critical person in the production team as we continue to expand and excel within the market.

**The position**:
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be active in production planning and preparation, continuous improvements, and new staff training, where you will be required to oversee 10-20 staff in the manufacturing department as well as the inhouse packing department. Part of the role includes managing manufacturing machinery, whilst also demonstrating knowledge in efficient setups including lean manufacturing techniques.

The factory is based in Pinkenba and the hours for this position are:
Monday to Thursday 6:00am - 3:00pm.

Fridays 6:00am - 12:30pm.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Hold daily pre-start meetings, highlighting production targets and safety.
- Leading and managing staff to achieve the daily production schedule.
- Production planning of materials, machinery and workforce (including rostering).
- Assigning work to production staff and ensuring they are achieving their KPI’s.
- Quality assurance checks on all outgoing jobs.
- Working with our health and safety officer on maintaining our strict WH&S standards within the factory.
- Manage receiving and dispatch including loading / unloading trucks.
- Stock control and managing our small stores.

**About you**:
You will be a highly motivated and driven person with strong organizational and communication skills. Having a work history within similar manufacturing industries is advantageous, you will also require a forklift license for this position.

In return for your skills you will be paid an attractive salary that is negotiable based on your experience and performance.

**Salary**: $80,000.00 - $99,000.00 per year
