**About the Role**
We have multiple 12 month opportunies for Lending Specialists in the BOQ Group Deceased Estates Unit. You will be accountable for facilitating and executing a solution for historical accounts relating to deceased estates across all brands.

You will work within a framework to identify the most appropriate course of action for resolution for all lending accounts deemed high risk by either implementing proposed solutions tool kit or where possible current embedded procedures to close, refinance or restructure lending. The role involves direct customer contact often in difficult times, it requires a strong balance of customer service and ability to effectively negotiate whilst showing a high degree of empathy and professionalism.

This role includes engaging with various stakeholders and teams across the BOQ Group.

**Key Accountabilities will include**:

- Investigate origination of lending to determine responsible lending guidelines were met at the time (where applicable)
- Raise separate incidents where potential breaches are identified under NCCP or BCOP. Engage with Compliance to ensure incident is reviewed and assessed
- Review lending file and discuss with Executor/Next of Kin plan to refinance/restructure/close Loan in accordance with current processes/procedures where possible or implement plan in accordance with proposed treatment plan guidelines inclusive of
- Obtaining validation documents to complete serviceability assessmentArrange consent from LMI provider to release deceased party and vary product (where applicable)
- Order and arrange documents via DXC Loans Centre and coordinate with domicile branch/ Business Banker for document sign up and returning of documents
- Providing instructions to Legal for preparation of an agreement documenting any new arrangement including a forbearance by way of Deed
- Raising specific provisions and processing vouchers for debt waivers
- Maintain a strong documentation process for audit purposes - All decisions, approvals, and documentation to be documented and filed in a shared drive for access

**About you**

You will need sound knowledge of regulatory requirements, specifically NCCP and Responsible Lending. For this reason, Banking experience is most preferred.

Given the nature of the work, the ability to have an empathetic needs-based conversation with the surviving borrower or estate representative (as relevant) will be key to the role.
