We are currently looking for a Disability Support Worker to **work in the COBURG area.**

This is a great opportunity to join our caring team. Happy Carers is an NDIS registered provider and our priority is to establish working relations where our clients and our Support Workers are HAPPY

We are currently seeking an experienced and committed Disability Support Worker to provide care and supervision during a variety of daytime and/or afternoon shifts. This is an immediate start position. **One possible shift would be 5 hours, twice a week (during school hours). Another opportunity is Thursdays and Fridays afternoons (3:30-7:00pm).**

Applicants must be experienced with a responsible attitude. The successful applicant will be expected to have a good understanding of how to support an individual living with a disability. You must be passionate about helping others to maintain their quality of life and independence. You will need to be compassionate and empathetic with strong listening and communication skills to be successful and the ability to connect with people with behavioural challenges.

**Qualifications & Experiences**
- Certificate IV in Disability, Aged Care, Individual Support or relevant
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Driver licence
- NDIS Screening Check
- NDIS Orientation online training (must be willing to complete this)
- experience working with clients living with cerebral palsy would be an asset

**Key Responsibilities & Duties for Disability Support Worker**
- Provide individualised support and some personal care to our client using a supportive and positive approach
- Motivate and promote client independence
- Accompany client for community access opportunities
- Assist the client with their emotional, psychological, cultural and spiritual needs
- In some instances: provide physical assistance to our client; assist client with domestic care
- Make sure our client is HAPPY

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: From $30.00 per hour
