**About the role**

The **Ops Officer, or Horticultural Assistant,** provides operational support to lecturers, technicians and students, ensuring the smooth delivery of teaching within the Agriculture, Water, Wine and Environment Program.

Working under general direction, the **Horticultural Assistant** will perform a variety of tasks that include assisting with nursery and landscape construction duties. Operate a variety of horticultural equipment and machinery and identify and collect plant or plant pest specimens.

The role requires professional interactions with others, along with a friendly, cooperative and team-oriented approach to shared responsibilities.

**Special Conditions**
- Some out of hours work will be required
- Some intrastate travel may be required
- May be required to work outside at times during inclement weather conditions Eligibility to work in Australia
