**About the Role**

Working closely with the Regional Executive and Regional Digital Engineering Lead, we currently have an exciting Permanent Full-Time opportunity for a Principal level Structural Technician/ Digital Drafting Operations Lead to join our Sydney office to provide technical and team leadership in both bridge and transport structures drafting/modelling space.

This will be a senior technical role in the New South Wales team with a regional focus and may have time to time national focus through project leadership, expert input and engagement with the Bridges, Maritime & Structures Capability (BMS) Leadership Team. You will be part of the steering group and will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of the digital and drafting strategies. This is a unique opportunity to take a pivotal position with an industry leader during an expansionary phase.

**What you’ll do**:

- Prepare concise engineering drawings from sketches and design information.
- Undertake reviews of engineering drawings to ensure compliance with CAD Standards and Quality Systems.
- Manage and monitor the quality of work performed by others and promote a culture of technical excellence
- Fulfil Project Drafter role - manage the drafting aspects of projects of varying complexity and size
- Planning and controlling of deliverables, resource management and maintaining communication between engineering and drafting staff on the project.
- Excellent experience with Revit, and other 3D modelling tools to prepare engineering models & drawings from sketches and design information with no or mínimal assistance.
- Provide support and guidance to less experienced modelers/drafters
- Contributing to the national level steering groups and taking an active role in strategic development of drafting/digital capabilities

**About you**:

- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Excellent Bridge and Structural drafting and detailing skills.
- Proficiency in CAD and BIM tools such as REVIT, AutoCAD and Microstation. Civil 3D, Dynamo or similar visual programming experience desirable.
- Experience of BIM modelling and Digital Engineering processes including Revit model project setup and workflow
- Recent track record delivering major bridges and transport structures using Revit is a must.
- Experience in (or interest) in developing skills in Parametric modelling and Computational Design
- Experience delivering projects for TfNSW in Australia is desirable would be an advantage
- Ability to coach modelers/drafters
- Team player with good communication skills
- Experience in managing teams and providing drafting/digital leadership on projects.
