**Position Information**:
Sydney Girls High School enrolment 950 students is an academically selective secondary school with a record of outstanding academic achievement. The school has a Non English Speaking Background (NESB) student population of 89% and cultural diversity is valued and celebrated. The school fosters the capacity of young women across the domains of giftedness and students are actively involved in extensive and high valued co-curricular programs. Many prominent and successful women are graduates of Sydney Girls High School across many varied walks of life. **Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Highly responsive and visible educational leadership with the capacity to initiate change within the context of current educational reform as demonstrated through experience in building a culture of excellence in teaching and learning and academic excellence for student achievement.
- Demonstrated understanding of and the ability to lead, develop and evaluate the quality of teaching, learning and wellbeing of gifted and high potential students.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and maintain collaborative connections and partnerships with all stakeholders that support an inclusive school culture.
- Demonstrated leadership to build staff capacity in order to foster a dynamic high performing and innovative team within a culture of high expectations.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
