The Infrastructure Safety Unit (ISU) provides leadership, support and guidance on the implementation, maintenance and performance of the Infrastructure Management and Delivery's (IMD) divisional health and safety management system. The ISU is accountable for ensuring the effective management of the health and safety of IMD workers and, monitoring the health and safety performance of external principal contractors and sub-contractors on projects where TMR is the client.
The purpose of the Principal Investigator is to provide guidance, direction and training in the investigation, monitoring and reporting of work health and safety (WHS) incidents across IMD.
**Some of your responsibilities will include**:

- Deliver expert training to IMD safety advisors and other staff members to build their expertise, particularly in relation to investigations and incidents.
- Identify and respond to emerging issues and trends related to workplace health and safety.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and conducting Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) investigations, including the preparation of evidentiary reports and high-quality briefs, to achieve quality outcomes in required timeframes.
- Provide independent and professional advice to senior executives on matters relating to investigations, including preparing of complex reports, ministerial briefing notes, and general correspondence.
- Working collaboratively with diverse teams across IMD to foster an open and positive safety culture ensuring that investigation practices are understood, valued and effectively integrated into daily operations.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
- Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's license or equivalent as travel to project sites will be required.
- ICAM lead investigator qualified.

Desirable qualifications
- Proven experience in incident investigation within the civil construction industry.
- Cert IV or higher in work health and safety.
- Queensland general construction induction training card (formally known as the white card).
