**Position**:Telecom Network Designer

**Work Locations**: Sydney

**Required Skills/Experience**:

- 3 to 5 years of working experience in planning, designing and detailed documentation for Australian Telco networks
- Working experience in Access, Distribution and Transit networks across the network types FTTN/FTTP/FTTC/HFC
- Skilled in the OSP and ISP design and drafting
- Working experience and understanding of aerial, underground and intra-building designs standards in Australia
- Working experience on MDUs design, Aerial designs, Pole Make Ready designs would be an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of GIS-related platforms, systems and tools such as SpatialNET, MapInfo, and AutoCAD Map
- Experience in ensuring the timely delivery/approval of area plans and detailed designs
- Experience in quality checking, feedback provision to the team and ensuring that quality designs are delivered

As part of the engineering and design team, the outside plant designer shall:

- Planning and Designing of Telecom devices, networks such as Copper, Fiber and HFC, and systems
- Design the network in compliance with the local councils laws, regulations, policies and procedures in the provision of telecommunications systems
- Interpreting the complex telecom architectures and business rules specific to the service provider
- Selecting and developing new telecommunications sites by locating sites, filing documents, drawing up documents for approval, drafting construction drawings and following through to approval
- Necessary documentation for Land access and Council approvals, Dial-Before-Your-Dig, drafting construction drawings and Single Line Diagrams.
- Performance evaluation of the existing network especially with the copper and fiber losses so that the required bandwidth is designed.
- Technical support and on the job training to be imparted to the junior designers
- Ensure the quality of the designs being produced by the mapped junior designers
- Drive the successful delivery designs required to meet the leading indicators and business objectives;
- Recommendations for planning and design process automations;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Pay: $100.00 - $1,000.00 per year
