- We are seeking an experienced WHS & QA Manager for a leading Illawarra heavy industrial engineering & fabrication company, servicing the Mining, Steel, Manufacturing & Infrastructure sectors for over 30 years._

The business employs approximately 100 people, mainly consisting of trades & apprentices as well as the support staff needed to run one of the region’s leading specialists in engineering fabrication & repair of heavy industrial components.

Operating large and well-equipped heavy engineering & fabrication facilities are accredited to ISO 9001:2015, with the capability to undertake highly complex engineering jobs for clients across Australia, we are looking for an experienced safety professional to coordinate, implement and administer the WHSQ systems to support a Zero Injury Workplace, in this hands-on on role.

**The Role**
As the WHS & QA Manager, reporting to the General Manager and part of the key leadership team, you will provide hands-on safety leadership enabling operational managers to manage their workforces and provide and maintain a safe, effective, and Quality driven workplace.
- Hazard identification, safety leadership, risk assessments & management, implementation of new initiatives & controls and follow up reporting
- Develop, implement, and maintain company policies and procedures ensuring updates are being appropriately communicated to management, staff, and external stakeholders in accordance with all legislative requirements and industry best practice standards.
- Update and maintain the company’s internal management systems and safety registers including recording all information relating to safety, environment, and quality processes.
- Complete and submit worker’s compensation claim documentation including coordination of return to work and rehabilitation plans.
- Incident investigations, incident management processes and reporting Prepare job procedures / SWMS as required.
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System to ISO 9001:2015 Standards including conducting Internal Audits and assisting in the coordination of Third-Party Audits.
- Develop and maintain effective internal audit programs and conduct regular audits against relevant ISO Standards (i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 4801, ISO 14001)

**You**
- Knowledge and understanding of the Work Health & Safety Act, Workers Compensation & Rehabilitation Act and associated Acts, Regulations, Standards and Codes of Practice.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience with auditing and risk assessments (Preferred Internal Audit Certification)
- Qualified “Return to Work” Coordinator.
