**About Maitland Hospital**

Maitland Hospital is a health facility for the Upper and Lower Hunter Regions. The urban/rural population serviced is approximately 72,000 and incorporates Maitland, Cessnock, Kurri Kurri, Singleton, Muswellbrook, Dungog and Raymond Terrace. The hospital is located 35 minutes from the John Hunter Children's Hospital and transport by air or road is facilitated by NSW Ambulance Services.

**Where You’ll Be Working**

Join a newly established ward and team located on Level 5 of our facility. With new office and environment, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of processes and procedures from the ground up.
You will be part of a high-performing Clinical Support Officer (CSO) team that has navigated significant changes due to increased population growth in the area. You will also collaborate closely with the Nursing Unit Manager, known for their approachable leadership style, and the broader Administration team.

**What You’ll Be Doing**

As a Clinical Support Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our new ward. You’ll manage day-to-day tasks, establish new processes, and provide essential support to clinical staff. This role requires someone who can confidently “manage up” and take ownership of their responsibilities. This will require the ability to drive efficiency while fostering collaboration across teams.

As a Clinical Support Officer, you may need to assist with some weekend cover and relief of the Clinical Rostering role. (Training will be provided as required).

**Key Duties of a Clinical Support Officer (CSO)**:

- Data Entry and Reporting: Accurately enter and report data into HR, finance, and other relevant systems, including registration of births with the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths, and Marriages.
- Roster Management: Maintain ward/unit rosters, including approved changes, and utilize IT systems to ensure accurate scheduling.
- Support in Patient Care Data: Participate in data entry related to patient care to support healthcare teams.
- Administrative Support for Workforce Matters: Assist with rostering, recruitment, performance reviews, leave, and payroll tasks to help managers meet KPI and people management goals.
- Supplier and Equipment Management: Monitor and organise the purchase and maintenance of medical and non-medical supplies.
- Staff Registration and Compliance: Monitor and manage nurse and midwife registrations to ensure they remain current.
