Assistant Winemaker

The Assistant Winemaker’s role will be to assist the winemaker in all aspects of the production of all clients wines and coordinate the cellar team.

The successful applicant must work as part of team and want ownership over their role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise and co-ordinate under direction from the Chief Winemaker the day to day operations and duties in the cellar
- In conjunction with the Chief Winemaker, ensuring that all relevant aspects of cellar operations are recorded as necessary.
- Assist the Chief Winemaker, when required during vintage, with the coordination of fruit harvesting logistics.
- Assist in blends and finings of all wines.
- Assisting in the implementation of any workplace safety policies and practices.

Job Requirements
- Education : Tertiary Degree in Oenology
- Technical: A sound understanding in a broad range of winemaking skills and practices, including fruit processing, filtration and barrel work.
- Communication: Extremely important that the successful applicant has good communication skills with cellar crew, winemakers and clients.
- Other qualifications: Fork Lift License, Confined Space Entry are ideal.
- Experience: Previous experience required.
